Telethon Kids Institute

The Telethon Kids Institute (external link) is Western Australia’s only research institute dedicated to kids health and well-being.  

Established in 1990 by Founding Director Professor Fiona Stanley, Telethon Kids brings together laboratory, clinical and population based research to discover ways to prevent, treat and cure the most common and devastating diseases and issues affecting children and young people in Western Australia and throughout the world. 

Telethon Kids undertakes research in many areas including cancer, diabetes, respiratory health, infectious diseases, youth health, mental health and disability.

A new home at PCH

Telethon Kids new home at PCH features:

  • state-of-the art laboratories, equipment and research facilities on Levels 6 and 7
  • a seminar room and multipurpose space on Level 5
  • dedicated trial suites on Level 1
  • a discovery centre on Ground Level. 

The Telethon Kids team of world-leading researchers will work together with doctors, nurses and other health professionals at the hospital to give every child the best opportunity to enjoy a healthy and happy childhood. 


Telethon Kids Institute is located at 100 Roberts Road, Subiaco, Western Australia.

It will move to Perth Children’s Hospital in 2017.
