New translated resources page now available for patients and families
Some of the translated resources now available to view, save and share
Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) has launched a new translated resources page, making it easier for patients and families to access key health information in their preferred language.
The new page brings together consumer health information translated into more than 25 languages, including Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Dinka, Farsi, Hazaragi, Hindi, Karen, Pashto, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Swahili, Tamil, Tigrinya, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese. The collection includes fact sheets, hospital stay information and general guidance designed to support families in understanding their child’s care.
The new page streamlines access to this material by presenting all available translations in one place, arranged alphabetically by language.
There are over 200 translated resources which cover a wide range of common topics, including fever, bronchiolitis, burns, diarrhoea, seizures, immunisation, healthy eating, plaster care, comfort options during hospital stays and information for overseas visitors.
Interpreters and translated materials play an important role in supporting positive health outcomes, particularly for families who may be unfamiliar with the Australian healthcare system or who prefer to receive health information in their first language. This centralised resource aims to make that support more straightforward and improve the overall patient experience.
The translated resources page can be accessed under the “For patients and visitors” tab.
